Hydrated Lime 25kg is a fine, dry white powder derived from high-purity limestone, designed for use in traditional building materials such as mortars, plasters, and renders. Its chemical composition improves workability, adhesion, and durability, making it a staple additive in construction and renovation projects.

Product Features/Specifications:

This premium hydrated lime is supplied in a 25kg bag, offering consistent particle size and purity. It blends easily with cement and sand to enhance the performance of lime-based mortars, increasing elasticity and reducing the risk of shrinkage or cracking.

Detailed Product Benefits:

Hydrated Lime acts as a plasticiser, improving the workability and spreadability of mortar and plaster mixes. It enhances bond strength between bricks or blocks and helps retain water within the mix, allowing for extended working times—especially valuable in hot or dry conditions.

Its alkalinity also provides a natural fungicidal effect, helping to prevent mould and algae growth in damp environments. When used in lime-rich heritage restoration projects, it supports breathability in traditional structures, reducing the risk of trapped moisture and related damage.

Applications and Versatility:

Ideal for use in general building, heritage restoration, and external or internal rendering, Hydrated Lime can be used in a variety of applications:

  • Enhancing general-purpose mortar mixes
  • Lime rendering on traditional or eco builds
  • Improving plaster performance for internal walls
  • Supporting breathable wall construction in conservation projects
  • Also suitable for agricultural and environmental use, including soil stabilisation and pH balancing.
